Dear Subscriber, A few additional comments about the new members area of www.larkenrose.com: 1) First, the chat room in the members' area is up and running, but people have been randomly wandering in and out, and rarely have two people wandered it at the same time (so only schizophrenic subscribers could have chats ... with themselves). Eventually I'll have some sort of schedule, so people might know when to expect other people to be there. For example, TONIGHT I'll be in the chatroom myself at least from 7 to 9 p.m., in case anyone else wants to wander in. 2) A few people pledged to support me, but didn't notice that I said that the members area is just for people who have read "The Iron Web." (Lots more people pledged to subscribe than have actually subscribed so far, and that might be a part of why that is.) Several people commented that, for various reasons, they haven't yet read the book, but still want to support my radical "extremist" endeavors. Well, if you really want to just throw money at me, just for the fun of it, you can send money via PayPal to "larken@larkenrose.com," or you can send it in some other form using the "snail mail" address shown below. But there really is a reason why I wanted only people who have read "The Iron Web" to get into the members' area of the web site. And no, it's not just a clever trick to make people buy the book ... although, in hindsight, maybe that would have been a good idea. Unfortunately, those who haven't read the book probably won't understand how it could possibly matter whether they have read a fictional story or not. It does, but I can't say why if you haven't read it. 3) Again, we made the entry quiz on the web site (part of the subscription process) a lot easier. If you have read "The Iron Web" but still can't pass the test, fling me an e-mail and I might help you cheat.
