As I sort of expected, I received some grumblings about the "pop quiz," where people have to answer a few questions about "The Iron Web" (to show they've read it) before they can get to the place to sign up as a member at www.larkenrose.com. I can sympathize with those who say that, though they've read the book, they can't necessarily remember the trivia (names, events, etc.). So we CHANGED the questions, to make it so it should be painfully easy now. And if you STILL can't pass it, despite having read the book, you can still send me an e-mail, and I might help you "cheat" a bit. So, once again, here's the quiz, which (if you pass) will take you to the www.larkenrose.com subscription page: Another thing we'll be adding tonight or tomorrow to the members area is an "In the Works" page, so you can see what it is you're making possible. I received nearly 200 commitments to sign up from people who wanted to support what I do, without me even telling them exactly WHAT I'll be doing. Well, in case anyone thought I just wanted for people to pay for me to go sip margaritas in the Bahamas, the "In the Works" thing will list some of the projects I'm currently working on--the things the subscribers are making possible. Now that I think about it, it makes more sense to tell you the kinds of things you'd be supporting BEFORE you subscribe. So below is a list of some of the things I'm currently working on. (This will become a permanent feature in the members areas, with new projects added, completed projects posted, etc., so subscribers can see at any given time what I'm up to, and what it is they're supporting.) This is a rough draft of the upcoming "In the Works" page, so please forgive any typos. Larken Rose http://www.larkenrose.com - -------------------------------------------------------------- - -------------------------------------------------------------- - - What You're Getting One of the things I most love to do--and what I think I'm pretty good at, on occasion--is advocating the philosophy of individual liberty and self-ownership, and dismantling and exposing the statist philosophy, which is based upon the initiation of violence, anti-human authoritarianism and the slave mindset. Not surprisingly, the general public, having been thoroughly indoctrinated into statism, doesn't want to PAY for the deprogramming that it needs so badly (whether from me or any of the other advocates of true freedom). But it is important to get the message out there, for any who are able and willing to wake up from the matrix. And it is YOU, the subscribers to this site, who allow me to keep going with my efforts to get that message out as far and wide as I can. And it's only fair that you know what it is you're supporting. So the purpose of this page is to let you know of the past, current, and future projects I'm involved in that YOU are making possible. That way you can decide if you're getting your $6/month worth. So here are SOME of the things I'm doing these days. (Some of the descriptions of projects may sound odd, and will have to be seen (or heard) when finished for them to make any sense.) As you can see from the list below, I'm not exactly resting on my laurels, and I want to thank YOU for making it possible for me to keep pursuing what I believe to be the most important cause in the world right now. - Larken Rose - ---------------------------------------------------------- * * * * * FREE FOR THE MASSES * * * * * This category covers the various writings, songs, videos, and whatever else I'm in the process of producing, intending to fling the results out for free to the general public, whether via my web site, YouTube, or any other means. (As a side note, I regularly engage in miscellaneous trouble- making, such as radio shows and talks, and posting various rants to my own web site, FreedomsPhoenix, and elsewhere. I'm not going to list each one here separately, but I'll try to let subscribers know when one is coming up. For example, I'll be giving a talk at the "End the Fed" rally (though now it has a longer name) in the Constitution Center in downtown Philadelphia on November 22nd. So the projects below are in addition to my usual anti-political "rants.") "I'M ALLOWED TO ROB YOU" A nine-minute video, using an unusual angle to deal with the supposed "right" of "governments" to forcibly confiscate wealth from those who have earned it. Status: Script written, video should be finished in a few days "BILLY JOE LEARNS CIVICS" A series of between five and ten short cartoons--amusing but informative--dealing with the contradictions and falsities Americans are taught in school about freedom, democracy, government, etc. Status: Several episode scripts written, animation just started Self-Ownership song (doesn't have a real title yet) A song and computed generated video having to do with the concept of slavery versus self-ownership, and the "awakening" of someone out of the subservient mindset into the concept of "I own me, you own you." Status: Song and animation well underway, over halfway finished "CHAINS" (the album) I've been planning a complete TEN-song album for years, with seven of the songs having been written while I was in prison. I'll be releasing the songs, one by one, as they're completed, and making videos for at least some of them. Eventually I'll probably sell the complete album for a few bucks, but the songs will still all be "reverse copyrighted," so people can do whatever they want with them ... which most people do with copyrighted songs anyway. The ten song titles are as follows (with an asterisk marking the ones written in prison): Chains The Message * Trial by Fire Obey * The Cycle Sacrifice * Tear Down * Captive * Bloodshed * Think * Status: All ten songs written (music and lyrics); none recorded yet * * * * * FOR SALE * * * * * Some of the books I'm working on now are intended to eventually be for-profit endeavors. However, I don't really want subscribers to have to pay me to write them, and then later have to pay what everyone else would have to to get a copy. So when such projects are completed, subscribers to this site will pay only the printing cost and the shipping for the book (what I have to pay for one myself). "THE MOST DANGEROUS SUPERSTITION" (book) I've spent many years intentionally NOT writing this book. I believed that it is the most important thing I will ever write, and I wanted to make sure I did the topic justice. It will be quite short, making for a small, inexpensive book/pamphlet which can easily be mass produced and widely distributed. To over-simplify a bit, it takes the superstition of "authority"--the idea that one is obligated to obey some master--and dissects and exposes that belief as the most destructive, anti-human superstition ever to plague the planet. Status: Outlines finished, book more than half written "DOWN" (book) This gruesome novel, along the lines of a horror story, is not overtly political in nature, but delves into the horrible depths of "love of dominion" (which obviously relates to authoritarianism, and the current state of the world). I can't say much more without spoiling the plot. Due to fairly gruesome violence and disturbing themes, this one will definitely NOT be for kids, maybe not even most adults. However, the unpleasantness in this novel is not just to be gross or shock people (as it is in a lot of movies). There is a point to it, and a point which cannot be fully expressed without it. Status: Plot finished, final writing started "AMERICA 2.0" (book) This project, still in early planning stages, would be a joint effort between myself and Peter McCandless (whom you may know as "Peter Mac"). In short, it looks at the stated goals of the Declaration of Independence, objectively examines how the Constitution ("America 1.0") succeeded in some ways and failed in others, and proposes a new "operating system" to get us to a society of individual liberty, justice, and prosperity--like America 1.0 was supposed to do, but in the long run didn't. Status: Still in early planning stages.
