Howdy, folks. I never quite got 200 pledges to subscribe to the new
part of the web site, but I got close enough to try it. For all
those who said you'd sign up, hopefully you meant it, because now's
your chance. Again, I want the members area to be for people who
have read "The Iron Web." The separate blog, the chat room, and
other stuff will all make a lot more sense if you've read the book.
So there's a pop quiz in the subscription process, to see if you've
read the book. (If you really have read it, but can't quite
remember enough to pass the quiz, you can send me an e-mail and I
might help you cheat.)

I can't say too much here, but the point of the members area is NOT
just to chat about a fictional story, which would be fairly
useless. The purpose is very "real world" oriented. Those of you
who have read the book will probably know what I mean. Those of you
who haven't ... well, I guess you'll have to take my word for it.
Better yet, if you haven't read the book, go steal a copy from a
friend, or order your own at the link below.

For those who HAVE read it, go to http://www.larkenrose.com and
look down the left side for the "Join the Iron Web" link, to sign
up for the members area. As promised, the members area is a wimpy
$6 a month, and you can pay either monthly, quarterly, semi-
annually or yearly, and you can do it via PayPal (which can take
credit card orders even if you DON'T have a PayPal account), or,
for those who don't like PayPal, don't like banks, whatever, you
can do everything by "snail mail" (check, money order, cash,
whatever), though the sign-up process is still done on the web site.

We wanted to make this completely compatible with those who are
appropriately "paranoid," when it comes to snooping fascists as
well as identity theft. For example, there won't BE any "list" of
subscribers for the control freaks to ever demand. But I'll explain
more about that stuff in a separate message.

(P.S. I'll try to be in the members' area chatroom for a while
tonight, so those who want to harass and/or call me nasty names can
get right to it. If you want to say something nice, I guess I'll
allow that, too.)
